COLLEGE STATION, TX: OPAS officials announced the events coming to the 2025-26 “The Power of Story & Song” season on April 24 before a standing-room-only audience of season ticket package buyers and supporters in the Bethancourt Ballroom at TAMU’s Memorial Student Center. Beginning in September, OPAS will present a season filled with entertaining Broadway musicals, concerts and theatrical experiences no fan of live entertainment should miss. The lineup of performances to be presented from September 2025 to April 2026 includes five events in the Ann Cobb Wiatt Main Stage series, four events in the Intimate Gatherings series, three in the Singular Sensations series, plus two-Family Time special events.

Season and priority single tickets may be ordered beginning June 2 at the MSC Box Office (979-845-1234) and online at OPAStickets.org. Season ticket packages offer savings opportunities ranging from 10-15% off regular ticket prices. Season ticket package buyers are assigned seats before single ticket buyers. All events will be performed in the Rudder Theatre Complex at Texas A&M University in College Station.

OPAS Executive Director Anne Black states, “As the season came together, we kept coming back to the wonderful stories that will be told this season coupled with the beautiful music that most of our programs offer. “The Power of Story and Song” just came to the forefront for this season’s theme.” Anne continues, “We can’t wait to experience it all together in Rudder beginning this fall with some of the greatest songwriters and performers our great State of Texas has to offer – Riders in the Sky. Combining storytelling songwriting and catchy music, they are truly the perfect way to get things started in September.” This concert is in collaboration with the Texas A&M University Press, for their much-anticipated book; Riders in the Sky: Romancing the West with Music and Humor by Bobbie & Bill Malone.

A team of community and TAMU student volunteers worked with Anne Black to select the performances for the 2025-26 season. This year’s committee was chaired by Alan Riley, and included Joe Foster, Kristopher Knoop, Allyson Wright, Janet Anderson, Brad Corrier, Joanna Soules and students Jack Mull, Vincent Meyer, Allison Pawlak, Sophia Bailey and Olivia Lawhead.

When asked what programs she’s most excited about seeing in Rudder this year, Anne states, “Well, that’s always a hard question to answer each year. But I was here when the great Hal Holbrook performed his signature, Mark Twain Tonight, in 1986 as part of OPAS Season 13. It was a tour-de-force. I know Richard Thomas will be incredible when he puts his own spin on it. That is probably what I’m most looking forward to.” Anne concludes, “But if you ask me again tomorrow, you’re likely to get a different answer.”
